1. Premium Filter Media Balancing High Efficiency and Long Service Life
The product adopts multi-layer deep composite filter media internally (mainly composed of high-density porous ultra-fine glass fiber supplied by HV, USA) [TOPTIK FILTER].
• Separation via Coalescence Principle: When micron-sized oil mist at the front end passes through the filter layer, tiny oil droplets coalesce into large oil droplets on the surface of the glass fiber. These droplets sink to the bottom of the separation core under gravity and are pumped back through the oil return pipe, ensuring the absolute purity of downstream compressed air.
2. Explosion-Proof and Static Elimination Design (Static Elimination)
When an air compressor operates at high speed, friction between oil and gas can easily generate static electricity of tens of thousands of volts, which poses a serious safety hazard inside the oil-gas tank filled with oil mist.
• Metal Electrode Pins / Conductive Gaskets: The upper and lower end covers and sealing flange gaskets of 163564669 integrate patented conductive pins (or graphite conductive layers), which can efficiently conduct accumulated internal static electricity to the grounded air compressor housing, fundamentally preventing oil-gas tank explosions triggered by static sparks.
3. Patented Oil-Resistant Bonding Process
High-temperature modified epoxy resin adhesive is used for fluid bonding between the end covers and internal filter media.
• Breakdown Resistance: Even under violent airflow shocks caused by air compressor unloading, loading, or large variable-frequency speed regulation, the filter element can withstand an extreme burst differential pressure of ≥ 70 psi (5 bar) without debonding or deforming. This prevents catastrophic system oil ingress failures resulting from the filter media being blown away .
4. High-Grade Sealing Protection
The original unit is equipped with high-performance asbestos-free / aramid fiber composite gaskets, paired with internal oil-resistant Viton fluoroelastomer O-rings.
• Resistance to Synthetic Oil Corrosion: For Atlas original high-grade fully synthetic lubricants (such as Roto Xtend Duty), the seals will not swell, carbonize or leak gas under long-term immersion and high temperatures, guaranteeing reliable sealing for long-term unit operation.

Ensure grounding (electrostatic discharge): ◦ When installing a new oil separator element, the metal pin/conductive strip on the original factory flange gasket must never be omitted, broken, or covered with sludge. ◦ Ensure tight metal-to-metal contact among the metal end cap of the oil separator element, the metal pin of the gasket, and the flange of the oil separator tank. If static electricity cannot be discharged, an oil-gas explosion may easily occur inside the tank. • Inspect the oil return pipe (to prevent oil carry-over in exhaust air): ◦ When removing the old filter element, check whether the check valve of the oil return pipe is clogged. ◦ Accurate positioning is required when reinserting the oil return pipe. The distance between the tip of the oil return pipe and the bottom of the oil separator element must be kept between 2 and 3 mm. ◦ Consequence: If the oil return pipe is too short to reach the bottom of the oil separator or the check valve is clogged, the separated lubricating oil cannot be drawn back to the main unit, which will cause a large amount of oil to be carried in the compressed air (commonly known as "oil carry-over"). • Do not touch the filter element surface: ◦ Operators shall wear clean gloves. The ultra-fine glass fiber filter medium is very fragile. Sweat or oil stains from hands will contaminate the filter medium in advance, and bumps or extrusion may cause local breakdown of the filter layer.

Initial pressure drop of new filter element: approx. 0.15 ~ 0.20 bar (2–3 psi) . • Economic replacement pressure drop: When the operating pressure drop reaches 0.50 ~ 0.60 bar, it is recommended to include replacement in the maintenance schedule. • Mandatory replacement limit (trip point): When the pressure drop reaches 0.80 ~ 1.0 bar (approx. 12–15 psi), immediate replacement is required.
